Scale Dash 8-32BHW's |
| So
what's the difference between the Dash 8-40BW's and the
Dash 8-32BHW's? The Dash-8 32BW is a shorter loco and has
a different number of doors. If you look very closely at
the photo of Amtrak #505 below, in the rear of the loco
on the top, note how one of the 6 top box vents has been
blocked off on the Amtrak locos (last section on top of
rear shows as darker section in photo). Thanks Atlas, for
a job well done! The Gull-wing version is another matter.
Modifications were ordered by the some prototype roads to
allow locos to fit through certain coal loaders. The roof
angles were modified and the ends were flattened. Atlas
has brought all of the modifications to N scale! |
