N Scale Alco RS-3 Diesel
Bachmann Pennsylvania Alco RS-3
Introduced in 1950, the all-purpose, 1600-HSP RS-3 diesel locomotive had the stamina and strength for freight and passenger service yet was agile enough for yard work. With its rugged, dependable design, it’s no wonder that many of these versatile RS-3 locomotives are still working today on short lines, tourist lines, and hauling freight. Bachmann’s DCC-equipped model adds digital control and versatility to your stable of locomotives..

A Brief note regarding Bachmann: The company goes all the way back to 1833. In 1899 through merger, the name changed to Bachmann Bros. Facing a downturn in business, they sold the company to Kader Group (their Hong Kong based Chinese supplier) in 1984. The name was changed to Bachmann Industries. Through additional acquisitions (Liliput - Austria) / (Graham Farish - England) / Williams Electric - US) / (Sanda Kan - China), Kader is now by far and away the largest manufacturer of trains in the world today.
More importantly as far as N scalers are concerned, they have substantially upgraded the quality, performance and detail of their high-end line-up. Their 2 latest N scale offerings were outstanding ... photos below are links...
